About the Position
Abri Residential Aged Care Village is conveniently located on the Gold Coast near the Southport Broadwater where community events and festivals are frequently held in the Parklands. Abri is focused on providing excellent 24 hour nursing and care assistance for the elderly of our community, with an emphasis on respect for individuality and maintaining independence. The facility also provides special accommodation and recreational amenities for those with dementia.
We are currently looking for a casual Personal Care Worker to join the team and provide cover for scheduled and unplanned leave.
This role’s overall purpose is to provide a range of high quality services to residents within the facility, including their individual physical, psychological, cultural and spiritual needs. As a Personal Care Worker, you will support a safe home-like environment, and encourage physical and social independence whilst safeguarding the dignity and privacy of the residents.
About You
Each day is different in this rewarding role, and requires our successful candidates to not only offer a fantastic attitude, but also a dedication to the following:
- Providing quality assistance with a range of daily activities
- Supporting clients with self-care including bathing and dressing
- Assisting with housekeeping and laundry duties
- Involvement with social and recreational activities
- Providing emotional, social and spiritual support to residents
Personal attributes will also include:
- Enthusiastic, compassionate and personable
- Experienced in Aged Care or similar
- Focused on providing Personal Support Services
- A strong communicator – both written and verbal
- Committed to supporting the elderly and comfortable working within professional boundaries and guidelines
Qualifications required:
- Certificate III in Aged Care (or equivalent);
- A current National Police Certificate
