About the Position

The idyllic Brisbane seaside suburb of Manly is home to the Edwin Marsden Tooth Memorial Residential Aged Care home and a series of modern, bungalow-style independent living units known as Lota Court. The large landscaped grounds also house the heritage listed Georgian-style Lota House.   EM Tooth provides excellent 24 hour nursing and care assistance for the elderly, with special accommodation and recreational amenities also available for those with dementia. 

We are currently looking for casual Personal Care Workers to join the team and provide cover for scheduled and unplanned leave. The overall responsibility is to provide a range of high quality services to residents within the facility, including their individual physical, psychological, cultural and spiritual needs.

As a Personal Care Worker, you will support a safe home-like environment, and encourage physical and social independence whilst safeguarding the dignity and privacy of the residents.

 

About You

Each day is different in this rewarding role, and requires our successful candidates to not only offer a fantastic attitude, but also a dedication to the following:

  • Providing quality assistance with a range of daily activities
  • Supporting clients with self-care including bathing and dressing
  • Assisting with housekeeping and laundry duties
  • Involvement with social and recreational activities
  • Providing emotional, social and spiritual support to residents

Personal attributes will also include:

  • Enthusiastic, compassionate and personable
  • Experienced in Aged Care or similar
  • Focused on providing Personal Support Services
  • A strong communicator – both written and verbal
  • Committed to supporting the elderly and comfortable working within professional boundaries and guidelines

You will be required to hold a Certificate III or IV in Aged Care (or equivalent), and a current National Police Certificate.
