About the Position
Anglicare SQ supports all kinds of people who may be impacted by mental health and wellbeing challenges, from new parents, children transitioning through school, people planning retirement and everything in between. We are here to provide the support needed at home or out in the community, for people to live the life they want. Our Mental Health & Wellbeing team in Roma are looking for a part time Coordinator - Client Care to join the team, managing the identification, development, and implementation of targeted service delivery programs to carers of individuals who have a mental health condition. The role will assist with pre-planning and transition to NDIS, working in accordance with the prioritisations of the whole of Government response to persons living with a mental health condition, both within a ‘psycho-educational’ and community development framework.
About You
Your extensive and well-rounded skills will be in the field of Mental Health or Human Services and you will also bring the following:
- Ability to engage with clients with complex or multiple needs, and their carers, in a supportive and practical manner
- A strong and established understanding of NDIS processes and the pre-planning required for participants
- Demonstrated background of designing and implementing community education packages to “at risk” populations
- Previous experience working within whole-of-family frameworks, across various service boundaries
- Extensive networking skills and the ability to utilise external sources to achieve desired outcomes
- Capacity to develop & maintain effective professional relationships with other community partners
- Confidence to contribute to the evaluation and analysis of guidelines, programs, policies and procedures
There is significant travel required, so along with your versatile and flexible attitude, the following traits are essential:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the capability to relate to a wide range of stakeholders, including those suffering from mental health, domestic violence and other behavioural issues
- Highly motivated and outcomes driven
- Creative thinker who promotes this attribute within your team; ability to provide “outside the box” solutions
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills; offer practical advice and demonstrate competent decision making skills
- Emotional resilience and ability to remain professional at all times
- Initiative, and able to monitor and manage your own workload while working within role expectations, deadlines and management requirements
Qualifications and certifications required will include:
- A degree in Health, Human Services or similar field; postgraduate qualifications in Mental Health are desired
- Current National Police Certificate
- A valid Blue Card (Working with Children)
- A current Queensland Driver Licence
- Commitment to working outside regular business hours as required
