About the Position

The idyllic Brisbane seaside suburb of Manly is home to the Edwin Marsden Tooth Memorial Residential Aged Care home and a series of modern, bungalow-style independent living units known as Lota Court. The large landscaped grounds also house the heritage listed Georgian-style Lota House.   EM Tooth provides excellent 24 hour nursing and care assistance for the elderly, with special accommodation and recreational amenities also available for those with dementia.

We are currently looking for a number of Support Services Worker/Cleaner to join the team and cover scheduled and unplanned leave on a casual basis. The roles are responsible for providing high quality cleaning services in rostered areas of the facility. Support Services Workers/Cleaners, in conjunction with other team members in the facility, encourage physical and social independence; support a safe home-like environment and safeguard the dignity and privacy of residents.

 

About You

As a motivated and skilled Cleaner, you will offer the following abilities and experience:

  • A background in general domestic cleaning duties
  • Experience in laundry services including washing, folding, sorting and ironing
  • Able to follow procedure and ensue the residents personal preferences are adhered to
  • Comfortable in the use of housekeeping equipment and machinery in-line with instructions
  • Confident communicator who can maintain professional boundaries with residents and their families
  • Experience working within designated timeframes
  • An open and enthusiastic manner with a commitment to working with elderly people
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment

With a professional manner and friendly disposition, you must be willing and able to work varied shifts including weekends (if required).

The following will also be required of successful applicants:

  • A current National Police Certificate
  • Physical capability of meeting the requirements of the role
  • A Certificate II or III in Asset Maintenance (Cleaning Operations) will be highly regarded
