About the Position

Situated in pristine Hervey Bay with a unique bushland setting that supports a large native bird habitat, Kirami is a fully-accredited aged care facility strengthened by a team of value-driven professionals who sincerely care about what they do and what they bring to our organisation. The Aboriginal word Kirami, meaning ‘home’ or ‘place of care’, represents the commitment of our staff in providing the highest standards of aged care service.

We are currently looking for two casual Lifestyle Assistant’s to join our friendly team - covering both planned and unscheduled leave across weekdays and weekends. The primary responsibility is to assist with the planning, implementation and evaluation of activities and lifestyle programs which enable residents to participate in a variety of experiences which improve their quality of life, taking into account the physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs of each individual within Anglicare. The role is also responsible for ensuring resident safety at all times and providing services to residents under direction and supervision, as per the facility structure.

 

About You

An experienced professional within Residential Aged Care, you will bring the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • Proven background in designing, conducting and evaluating activity and diversional therapy programs
  • Ability to assist the Diversional Therapist and other team members who care for residents who are physically frail
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with a variety of people including staff, residents & their families in a professional and friendly manner
  • Commitment to ongoing quality improvement and professional development of the facility and yourself
  • Dedication to promoting a safe, caring environment to improve and enhance the lives of residents
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment and to manage your own workload
  • Good computer skills and experience in the use of AutumnCare software would be beneficial

To be successful in this position you will have:

  • Certificate IV in Leisure and Health (or equivalent)
  • A current National Police Certificate
  • Current Queensland Driver Licence
  • Capability to meet the physical requirements of the role
