About the Position

Anglicare’s Community Aged & Disability teams work across the Southern Queensland region, and are key in providing care to a range of clients, including older people and those with disabilities. Our teams provide support and services that enable our clients to maintain their independence - living happily and healthily within their own homes. We recognise that one size does not fit all, and working together is the key to great outcomes, so our non-clinical lifestyle programs are designed to support individual needs, incorporating the principles of social inclusion, choice and control, empowerment and independence; and our clinical supports include nursing and allied health care at home, along with domestic and personal assistance.

With the new Government led funding reforms, and to ensure we continue to offer the best possible support and care to our clients, Anglicare have introduced changes to our service model and are looking for a professional, capable and dedicated Service Manager to provide guidance to our teams in Woollloongabba, Cleveland and Logan. The Service Manager for the Brisbane South region maintains 370 employees (head count), a budget of $40 - $50m and is responsible for managing the Coordinators of client support and services, care services and multidisciplinary clinical teams.

 

About You

With an extensive and successful career within the Health, Community or Disability sectors, you will provide strong leadership and a dedication to client-centred care practices. Capabilities will include:

  • Substantial operational and management experience including sustainability & business development of multiple programs
  • A strong, robust understanding of community services including Aged Care, Homelessness, In-Home Care and Disability Support
  • Confident mentor, motivator and coach, providing a cohesive working environment to support staff and volunteers
  • Previous experience managing budgets and financial requirements a multi-disciplinary service site, including contractual compliance and risk management
  • Management of people including recruitment, onboarding and professional review processes

Along with your practical experience, you will bring a number of essential personal attributes and abilities:

  • Demonstrated leadership skills including the ability to influence and negotiate to drive effective outcomes
  • Capacity to develop and promote team culture across multiple service-sites; provide remote support and guidance
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate in a professional, productive manner to a large and diverse number of people
  • A dedicated client-centred approach and the commitment to develop and implement service delivery with this focus
  • Relationship and rapport building capabilities with a collaborative nature                                                  

Professional qualifications and certifications required for this position will include:

  • Degree in Health, Human Services, Aged Care or similar field
  • Post-graduate degree in relevant field (or currently studying)
  • A current Blue Card (Working with Children) with Yellow Card exemption
  • The ability to meet the requirements of a Key Personnel Check for the purposes of the Aged Care Act (1997)
  • National Police Certificate
  • Current Queensland Driver Licence and ability to travel throughout the region as required
